Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is the chocolate chip cookie recipe that I have made for years. We think they deserve a spot on the yummy yoo-hoo!

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup margarine or butter, softened
2/3 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 package (2 cups) chocolate chips

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix sugars, butter and shortening until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Stir in remaining ingredients.

Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until light brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from cookie sheet.

  1. I tend to follow a different chocolate chip cookie recipe every time I make chocolate chip cookies. This recipe looks great--I love the combination of butter and shortening so you get the good flavor from the butter but the shortening would help so they don't spread too much.

  2. My kids won't let me make any other chocolate chip cookie recipe than Aunt Kendra's. Truly the best we have EVER tried!
