I won a blue ribbon at the fair for these delicious cookies when I was in 4-H. I hadn't made them for years so I called Mom for the recipe. They are still yummy!
1 cup soft shortening (I used 1/2 cup shortening and 1/2 cup butter)
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1/3 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1/3 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
I have been thinking about these cookies, too, since Mom mentioned she made them recently. I couldn't find the recipe, so thanks for posting it here! Your picture is beautiful--I plan to add this recipe to the family reunion cookbook.
ReplyDeleteI made these this last Sunday for the first time. Phil said, "Why have you waited 13 years to make these! These are delicious!" He really likes them because they aren't super sweet and they are nice and soft. The whole family really enjoyed them.
